Safetycatch Street Theatre offer a variety of workshops. These usually take the form of localised wrap around activity to accompany the performance of shows. In the past Garth Williams has been involved in delivering extensive animation workshops within Creative Partnerships projects in Salford and North Manchester. He ran regular drama game workshops for groups aged 5-7 and 7-9 year olds, including writing plays, directing shared performances for parents. He also ran regular drama drop in sessions at the Contact Theatre, and delivered outreach filmmaking summer projects for young people. Garth regularly delivered corporate filmmaking workshops for the National Media Museum in Bradford, for mixed groups, team building exercises and even stag dos. Garth has integrated media into workshops including the Workington Christmas Tree project, delivered in conjunction with Workington Town Hall and the local Mind charity and its members to create a human paper chain of photos of Town Hall and MIND seriuve users to decorate the tree which was made of 108 picture frames mounted on 4 shipping crates wrapped in the EU member nation flags. In 2019 workshops have included working with learning disability led theatre company Loop, in Glasgow, in conjunction with performing our new show Doctor! Doctor!! Garth sits on the steering group for NASA UK (The National Association of Street Artists), and every year co-runs the annual gathering of outdoor artists – FLOI, a 48 hour weekend of fun, workshops, sharing of work in progress and on. Contact Garth if you would like to discuss workshop delivery for your group, event or festival.
